The History
Then
The Normandie building once operated as a landmark hotel during the Old Hollywood glamour days of the 1930s - complete with overnight lodging, fine dining and bar, and a great ballroom for out-of-town guests to enjoy. Over the years, Normandie's attraction to new visitors declined and its glory days as a hotel came to an end. In the most recent decades, Normandie owners have struggled to acclimate to renters' evolving needs, and the property continued to decline on the desirability scale.=.
And Now...
Since Excelsior Communities acquired the property in 2018, the Normandie has experienced a rebirth. The property's interior has been extensively renovated to fulfill the desire for unique rentals in trendy neighborhoods of downtown Rochester. The once great ballroom has been remodeled into several historic ballroom-style apartments, featuring stunning high cathedral ceilings, intricate baseboards, decorative moldings, and Corinthian columns that have been preserved from their original state. With their high-end finishes and designs, these units are now among the most luxury apartments available in the Park Ave neighborhood.
